Ashkal EP20 is a PP/PE-based clear Polyethylene film designed to offer easy-peel function when used as sealing layer/lidding film on PP-based cups. The primary application of EP20 for use as lidding/sealing film for PP-based cups used food items like jelly cups/confectionery, dairy products. The principle is to provide a firm sealing to secure the contents which could be in liquid/semi-liquid form, along with an easy-peel function for the convenience of the customer/ user. Ashkal EP 20 achieves that by using a special polymer recipe and controlled processing conditions to achieve easy-peel functionality.

This film is used as a replacement for high VOC (Volatile organic compounds) heat seal lacquer applied on Al foil for use in the conventional lidding substrate. PET/FOIL coated HS Lacquer. The replacement of lacquer offers the convertor a completely new supply chain partner. The use of Ashkal EP20 can offer up to 10-12% reduction in the cost of the laminate over PET/Foil HS Lacquer coated substrates, thus offering superior returns to the business.
